FOUNDER – GARETH DUNCAN

Celebrated youth entrepreneur Gareth Duncan is the CEO of GD Industries, and the founder of Cape Town Lately

 The 25-year-old started his career as a sports writer at Highbury Safika Media in 2009, and quickly emerged as one of the bright young individuals in the South African media industry.

In addition to working across 11 world-class publications, including SA Rugby Magazine, SARugbyMag.co.za, keo.co.za, SA Cricket Magazine, Business Day Sports Monthly and SportsClub Magazine, he travelled as Team South Africa’s Media Manager to the Commonwealth Youth Games in Douglas,  Isle of Man (2011)  and the Zone VI Games in Lusaka, Zambia (2012). He was also nominated as the SAB Newcomer of the Year in 2012.

He then started Cape Town Lately as a social project in 2013, before relaunching it formally in January 2015, in association with The Media Crowd.

Gareth is also a Glenfiddich Maverick, Tedx Talk speaker and a motivational speaker focused on youth entrepeneurship in South Africa. He’s involved in various other exciting projects.
